So, I tried to make a chocolate cake that I could share with everyone. Sadly, I have to share with you that the cake didn’t make it. Actually, it sorta made it. Well, there’s good news and bad news.
The bad news is: it had a funny after taste. However, after doing a little investigation, I think I know what the culprit was. As soon as I muster up enough courage to face the kitchen aid again, I’m going for round 2.
The other bad news: It didn’t rise properly, the way you would expect cake to. In fact, it bubbled up, and jumped right out of the cake pan. It also managed to make a huge mess in the oven, which happily, we have a self-cleaning oven. However, that was an experience as well. It was the first time we used is, and we figured with chocolate cake everywhere, it was a good time. Too bad the cake caught fire! The alarm went off, and the whole house smelled bad for a few hours.
The good news: The texture was perfect!! It was like real cake. Also, the oven is now clean.
