Did you see our last yogurt bowl idea post? This is another idea, in hopes to give you inspiration for allergy free goodness. I personally thought it would be fun have to this one be “baby and me” style. This bowl features So Delicious dairy free coconut yogurt, frozen organic wild blueberries, Go Raw organic watermelon seeds, organic kiwi, and organic banana.

To make kiwi stars, I peeled the kiwi, and cut thick slices. Then I used a small, metal, star cookie cutter. Everything else is just careful, photo ready, placement. Funny thing is, it does take quite a while to get these bowls ready for their picture. Happy eating!

Chocolate Chia Pudding by The Allergy Chef

Allergy Free, Vegan, Chocolate Chia Pudding

Have you ever seen Chia Pods in your local grocery store? I saw them a very long time ago, and Kid Two really enjoyed them, but only certain flavors. No one else seemed to like them, and I wasn’t in love with the price. After thinking about the ingredients, I set out to make them myself. That was over a year ago. The boys have been in love with every flavor I’ve created, including vanilla and mango. They also know how to make these on their own now. Chocolate however remains king of the flavors, as it is requested the most. This rendition includes banana, and everyone was happy to have it. What I like the most about this is that it’s coconut free. All too often, healthy chia puddings call for either almond or coconut milk. Well not these. However, if you’re grain free, you could sub in a milk that you enjoy. These work great as a breakfast, snack, or dessert. Once you’ve made them once, you’ll see how the ratios work, then I suggest you go wild and start making all sorts of flavors.

Allergy Free Yogurt Bowl

I just wanted to share this simple idea with you. Smoothie and yogurt bowls seem to be quite popular online, so I figured we should make one, right? We used So Delicious dairy free coconut yogurt, and topped it with Nature’s Path gluten free chocolate rice cereal and organic banana slices. That’s it! It’s super simple, the kids loved it, and it photographs well. Enjoy!

Allergy Free Taco Tuesday Gorditas

Do you remember gorditas from Taco Bell? I learned about these as a kid, and thought it was pretty neat to have two taco shells in on go. For many reasons, we don’t feed the kids fast food, however, I love recreating things at home for them that I think they’d just love. This was a HUGE hit! If it weren’t for my severe corn allergy, I’m sure we’d make these more often. It was comforting to see how much the kids were willing to work to keep me safe while we prepared this meal. The Papa set up a table outside for us to work on, and of course, I didn’t touch anything. So, ready to make these? Our Allergy Kid had never had anything like it, and was blown away, as was everyone else.

Simple, Delicious, Awesome, Epic, Wonderful… This dish is everything that’s right with the world. It’s soooo yummy. Like, just yes. Allergy Free Organic Fruit Pizza Cups

I have been trying to sell our Allergy Kid on the idea of fruit pizza for MONTHS. I saw some cool ideas online, and thought the kids would jump at the idea. Turns out, they were thinking traditional cheese pizza topped with fruit and chocolate. Yeah…. that’s gross. Hehe. Once they saw all of the ingredients out, it started to click in their minds just what I was up to. They were all more than happy to help me put them together, and to be my hands since I can’t touch the dough.

Once the pictures had been taken, they devoured all of the cups. In fact, they LOVED these. I wasn’t sure if Kid Three and Kid Four would like them since they used non-dairy yogurt, but they said that was the best part. After a success like this, I’m sure we’ll be trying more variations of this, and you can expect to see a fruit pizza in our Allergy Friendly Pizza Cookbook.

I have no idea where the inspiration for this dish came from, but the kids were more than happy that it came. This dish pairs two of their favorite things in the world: my pan seared & baked potatoes with cheese. Kid Three is a cheese-o-holic. If he could eat a pound of cheese¬† day, he probably would… I’m not even kidding right now. Kid Two likes his cheese as well, but have you seen the price of dairy free cheese lately? I have to ration that stuff out. Interestingly, he prefers the yellow Daiya cheese to the white, yet, really didn’t mind this fancy sauce one bit.

This was such a fun little treat to make! In fact, truth be told, the kids ate these for breakfast. I figured, there’s a minimal amount of sugar in the cone, minimal sugar in the whip topping, and they’re filled with fruit and yogurt. We have to live a little, right? Gluten and Dairy Free Salmon & Pineapple Pizza Bread

What do you do when there’s no pizza dough thawed? You make Pizza Bread! We’ve gone through a lot of gluten free bread options like many others I’m sure. As of late, we’ve settled on Happy Campers Gluten Free Bread. You’ll notice in the pictures that not all slices are created equally in presentation, however, that hasn’t stopped Kid Two from enjoying it. You may recall that we’ve talked about this bread in the past. He doesn’t love it, and isn’t super excited about sandwiches, but really likes having it when it’s made into something fancy such as garlic bread, cheese bread, open tuna sandwiches/melts, and of course, pizza bread. Oh! And French Toast too. We use to use Udi’s, until we learned about his egg allergy, then simply went cold turkey for a very long time. We knew there were a few others, the brown rice bread, Ener-G bread, and more, but none of them ever came close to a traditional bread. Yet, I am SO thankful there are companies out there trying!

Happy Campers makes a few flavors, but we get the simple one. The quality of the ingredients is great, however, the size of the bread is rather small. It’s the price we pay… figuratively and literally. One of these days, I really am going to try my hand at bread making. Until then, it’s Happy Campers. On to the Pizza Bread.
