We saw these online, and simply knew we had to make an allergy free version. Our low/no sugar kid can’t have peanut butter, so we opted for sunflower seed butter. Although he can have almonds, we wanted this to be extra allergy friendly!

Crunchy Almond Butter Cups
Did you know that Kid Three can’t have peanut butter? He’s not allergic, but it gives him terrible stomach aches. With that in mind, I try to make him candy cups every so often, and these were a hit. For the first time, I tried using crunchy almond butter, rather than creamy.
Allergy Status: Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Soy Free, Peanut Free, Wheat Free, Yeast Free, Paleo, GAPs, Vegan Compatible, Raw Food Compatible, Nut Free Compatible
For Nut Free: Use Crunchy Sun Butter
For Vegan: Use maple syrup instead of honey.
For Raw Food: Use appropriate brands of chocolate, honey, and almond butter. You may need to grind your own crunchy almond butter, or add crushed almonds to your raw creamy almond butter. Read More
Organic Pudding Cups
I don’t know about you, but I find the most beautiful images of food on the internet. Often times, it’s full of allergens, and I see it as a challenge. This is one of the few exceptions. Often time, people making these chia pudding cups are healthy foodies, and will create things that also happen to be allergen free. Originally, I wasn’t going to make these since The Papa has a coconut allergy, but he’s always telling me to do things with coconut for you, dear readers. No really, he’s always like, you have to do it. Not everyone online has a coconut allergy. So, here they are. I have to say, they were a HIT with the kids and their friends. Their friends have gone so far as to request that I make these for their birthdays.

Here in North America, you can usually find pears at the grocery store year round, as we import them from other countries. However, fall marks the harvest time for pears grown here. Kiwi Lime Paleo Dessert
I saw a really cool idea on the internet, and decided to give it a go. I purchased a container of organic kiwi at Costco with this dessert in mind. I really love Costco… affordable organics… Back to the dessert. What I read online was more of a tart, with a semi-traditional crust. I opted to use a method that I’ve been going with for about a year now. It’s similar to the Paleo Dessert Cups that we sell at our bakery (freeandfriendlyfoods.com), except in bar form. The kids really enjoyed it, and my only regret was that I didn’t set it in the freezer. I think if I had, there would have been less discoloration around the kiwi fruit.

Homemade Maple Almond Butter Recipe
Do you remember the review that Kid Three helped write? Justin’s Almond Butter review… Well, as I mentioned, it’s pricey when you have a house full of kids to feed. To combat rising prices, we make single servings of almond butter (and peanut butter) for the kids. Kid Three can’t have peanut butter, but the others can. Gotta love our House of Allergies. Strawberry Milkshake Recipe
Anyone up for a simple, scrumptious, organic strawberry milkshake? The kids loved it, because, sugar. Let’s be honest though, sometimes, it’s OK to let your hair down and have a little fun. I made the kids these shakes as a Friday night treat to go along with their movie.
I’ve learned that homemade milkshakes are all about getting the ratio right. Usually, the formula is ice cream + milk. If your ice cream is still on the hard side, more milk, and vice versa. However, when there’s fruit involved, you can usually skip the milk. Just be sure you’re using fresh fruit, or fully thawed frozen fruit.
