Time For LEGO Christmas Reviews!

40093-1 Large Snowman

The SNOT (Stud Not On Top) building techniques used on this set were nice. I also really liked how the scarf comes together. As I was building, I was wondering why there was a red piece in what seemed to be a random place, then it hit me. Overall however, I wasn’t in love with this set. I actually preferred the look of the mini snowman in 40124. Truth be told, I bought this set because I got the reindeer, and they just seemed like a pair. I think this would be a great build for a little kid, and I must say, it makes an excellent addition to Christmas and winter-land displays.

40092-1 Large Reindeer

This reindeer is simply cute. There’s a hidden cross piece that allows it to hold the present, and well, it’s just cute. The antlers, the feet, I just love this little thing. What more can I say? It’s great to add to your winter and Christmas displays, and people of all ages will enjoy this one. In fact, I wouldn’t mind making another one from spare parts so the extra present isn’t just sitting around. I will say however, the party hat seemed a bit out of place for me.

Red Creatures LEGO Review by The Allergy Chef

LEGO Review – 31032 Creator Red Creatures

Overall, for $15.00, this is a GREAT purchase. If you’re into part harvesting, then the colours are spot on in this set. If you’re into clever builds, you may want something a little more advanced, or maybe the go-kart with working steering wheel. If you’re considering getting into mech building, I have to say, this is an epic set to get you going. I know there are other actual mech sets out there, but this one will also get your creative juices flowing. Read More

Rain Forest Animals LEGO Review by The Allergy Chef

LEGO Review – Creator 31031 Rain Forest Animals

Being the mature grown up that I am, I decided to pass up this set simply because it was small, simple, and I’m not a huge fan of animals. Then, by way of the internet, I learned that the bird poops! I mean really, could I ask for anything more mature and clever than that? Needless to say, I had a grin on my face as soon as I opened this set. I do want to add, I didn’t just build the bird because it poops, but also because this variation of the 3-in-1 seems to be the most interesting. The fish and chameleon seem like a bit of an afterthought by the set designers. I can totally see a group of them sitting in a room, ecstatic that the bird has so much functionality, then saying, wait, guys, it’s supposed to be a 3-in-1. Quick, think of something else we can make! Read More
