Carrot Cake Ice Cream
There are so many days where I think I’m nothing short of a mad scientist. I love to ask myself, “I wonder if xyz would work…” and this time, it was carrot cake in ice cream form. Turns out, it does. Now, for those of you who may have a single allergy, such as eggs, feel free to start with a more traditional ice cream recipe, then add the items towards the bottom of the ingredient list that helps this ice cream stand apart. Pumpkin Brownie Bars
It’s that time again! Time to start creating all things pumpkin flavored. This is our first of many new pumpkin recipes. Be sure to check back for our savory pumpkin pasta, pumpkin truffles, pumpkin ice cream, and pumpkin freezer sandwiches.
These pumpkin brownie bars came about as we were working on our candy bar project. The “cake” layer of our candy bar has been deemed amazing. With that in mind, I knew we had to try other flavors to see what would work. Rather than make a pumpkin candy bar (yes, I seriously considered it), I opted for a brownie bar just for fun.
If you’re dairy, tree nut, and coconut free, you may need to make your own ice cream at home. Making vanilla ice cream at home using an ice cream maker with a compressor is super easy, and very tasty. You’ll need to have a safe milk base, such as Good Karma Foods Unsweetened Flax Milk, or something homemade. We make homemade oat milk ice cream that’s top 8 free and corn free using the fresh oat milk that we make for our bakery. Now that you know some of the story behind this creation, on to the recipe!

Organic Paleo Peaches Recipe
I really hope you bought those peaches I was telling you about. Do you remember the first photo on the Stuffed Peaches post? I had 4 giant organic peaches, but only used 2 for the recipe. With the extra 2, I put together these delicious peach toppings. The first is a Paleo version, and tomorrow I’ll be posting the Triple B Peaches.
The concept behind the dish was to make something that would be really yummy at breakfast time. However, turns out it’s great with ice cream too. I imagine this could be used on cupcakes, oatmeal, cream of wheat, and toast. And of course, eaten straight out of a bowl.
Allergy Status: Wheat/Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Soy Free, Peanut Free, Yeast Free, Corn Free, Cane/Refined Sugar Free, Sesame Free, Legume Free, Nightshade Diabetic Friendly, Paleo, GAPs, Vegan, AIP Compatible, SCD Compatible
For Corn Free: Source safe ingredients. There’s a place in our area called Woodleaf Farm. They’re corn free and amazing. You can also get good peaches from Riverdog Farm.
For AIP and GAPs: Use safe vanilla.
For SCD: Use date sugar instead of maple. Read More
Chocolate Coconut Sorbet-Style Ice Cream Recipe, A Three Course Meal
What’s a three course meal without dessert? When I knew what allergens I needed to avoid, I dug deep to come up with this. @chronically_kota misses chocolate ice cream, and hopefully this will hit the spot. Here’s what we found to be interesting. We’re calling it more of a sorbet because I used coconut milk that was more like a coconut water. It’s the Pacific Organic brand, but it was very watery, unlike the kind you buy the can, which has the fat layer on top. To achieve a more creamy, ice cream like texture, opt for the kind in a can if you have one that’s safe for you. That extra fat is what will make the greatest difference in the final texture.

Six Paleo Pudding Pops & Popsicles Recipes
As The Papa likes to say, these were in HIGH demand. The kids loved them, and their friends were over the moon in love with these I couldn’t help but giggle to myself, knowing how healthy they were, and what was really in them. Serious kitchen win!
In addition to Paleo Pudding Pops, I’m also writing about popsicles today.

S’more Ice Cream Recipe
Late one night, when the kids should have been asleep, Kid Three wanted to be part of the conversation. The Papa and I were talking about supply and demand (at which point Kid Two wanted to get involved) and just all things related to the business. We then got on the topic of ice cream, and some of the ideas that I had to use with the machine, knowing that I wanted to have an ice cream theme week, and that I’m working on an ice cream book. Kid Three suggested Bubble Gum Ice Cream, which I thought would be really cool, at which point S’more Ice Cream hit me like a ton of bricks (as did many other good ideas). Once made, the kids went wild for this ice cream flavor. I was afraid the marshmallows were going to get hard and be weird, but in the end, everything turned out just right, and they all lived happily ever after. Yup, still trying to be a comedian. So, I present you with S’more Ice Cream!

For Soy Free: Use a safe non-dairy milk alternative. Be sure to source soy free marshmallows (not the Dandees brand) and graham crackers (not Kinnikinnick). I have yet to see GF SF graham crackers, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there, and you could always make some. However, if you can have gluten, there are plenty of soy free options. Read More
Paleo & GAPs Maple Bacon Ice Cream Recipe
Did I tell you the kids love bacon? Especially Kid Two. He just loves it. And they all enjoy trying the “fancier” packages from Good Eggs from time to time. I will say though, they’re not at the extreme level yet where they want bacon covered chocolate. So, I got to thinking about ice cream one night, and BOOM! Maple Bacon Ice Cream. Bacon? goooood. Ice Cream? goooood. Maple? Greeeat, because Kid Three tolerates it much better than cane sugar. I knew in that moment that because bacon would be involved, it had to be Paleo so everyone could have a nice big bowl of it.

Ice Cream Topping – Balsamic Fruit Recipe
If you love stone fruits, balsamic vinegar, and/or non-traditional toppings, please keep reading. In my head (remember, I can’t eat any of this stuff) this recipe is a great idea. It has a fancy title, and seems like something you would find in an up-scale restaurant. Well, needless to say, the kids, and The Papa couldn’t see themselves at an up-scale restaurant. Poor me, I don’t live in a house of people who understand fancy. I’m sure someone out there will appreciate this recipe, make it their own, and give it a try.

Organic Peach Sorbet
Welcome to Ice Cream Thursday. I feel like we’ve come so far, yet have so much further to go. So, here we are with an Organic Peach Sorbet. Each year at the farmer’s marked in San Francisco, there’s a farm the biggest, juiciest, organic peaches you’ve ever laid eyes on. Words can’t express how full of flavor they are! So it’s only fitting that we used those peaches for today’s sorbet.

Nectarine Blueberry Sorbet
This one is SO special and near and dear to my heart. I ate some. YUP. I ATE SOME. I had to source safe items from various places, but did you hear the news? I ATE THIS SORBET! This wasn’t the kid’s favorite flavor, but the funny thing is, I really liked it. However, I have to say that my condition has truly changed my taste buds, quite a bit.
